#RestaurantReview: Orlandeaux's Cafe - Shrevport LA
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Orlandeaux's Café, a legendary spot in Shreveport-Bossier that has been serving up delicious Creole cuisine since 1921. With a rich history that includes several name changes, this family-owned establishment has become a staple in the community and is recognized as the oldest continuously operating African-American family-owned restaurant in the United States.
Despite being warned that the wait time would be three hours, we decided to stick around and were pleasantly surprised when we were seated within 45 minutes. The wait was definitely worth it! From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and provided us with excellent service throughout our meal.
As for the food, I opted for the shrimp and grits, which were absolutely delicious. Every bite was full of flavor, and I could swear that there was a piece of shrimp or sausage in every bite. It was clear that the dish was prepared with care and attention to detail.
My sister went for the whole catfish, and she hasn't stopped talking about it since. It was clearly a standout dish, and I could see why she was so impressed.
Overall, my experience at Orlandeaux's Café was excellent. The food was top-notch, the service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was welcoming and cozy. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for some of the best Creole cuisine on this side of the Bayou.
