Meet Chris Daly aka DJ Hollygrove

Tell us about you:

My real name is Chris Daly. I was raised by my grandparents in a neighborhood in New Orleans, LA, called Hollygrove. I am a father of my son and my 2 bonus children. I've been in church and around music my entire life and that's how I developed my passion for playing the drums.

When I was 15, my family moved to Texarkana to escape Hurricane Katrina. Although I still play the drums, every Sunday at my church, I knew I had to switch it up and try something new. Djing became my way of life and I haven't looked back since.

Tell us about your brand and why people should keep their eyes on you:

DJing + the city that raised me = DJ Hollygrove! Music lives in me, I love people and I love to entertain. It's something about making people feel good by reading and exchanging the energy of my audience. It's a win/win situation. Oh yeah, my smile too. I'm always smiling.

What is your definition of having a positive attitude and leading a positive life?

I have a lot of people watching me on and off the stage, especially children. So, I have to be a positive role model and remain humble at all times.

Tell us about a time when being positive was the furthest from your mind but somehow you were able to make it through whatever you were going through:

Whew! It's often. I move in other's territory and in most cases, I push harder than them, so it makes them envy me. I keep going and don't stop pushing.

Share with us a stereotype that you have been put in but you continuously do your part to not fit the characteristics of the stereotype. Explain:

Well, I guess people think because I'm young, I don't know how to DJ older crowds. I prove them wrong all the time!

When times are hard, how do you remain positive?

I trust God first! Then I take a deep breath and keep going!

What is your favorite quote or song? Why?

My favorite quote is.

"It's coming!"

Just keep pushing no matter what, because God will fulfill everything.
